Rare Book Week Berlin – Berlin at the Center of the Antiquarian Book Trade
From September 14 to 20, 2026, the ILAB Congress (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) — held every two years in changing metropolitan cities — comes to Berlin. The congress fosters international exchange, networking, and the promotion of the rare book trade. Together with the ILAB Symposium, it brings antiquarian booksellers, librarians, and collectors from around the world to the German capital for lectures, exhibitions, and guided tours.
The week culminates in two antiquarian book fairs: Rare Book Berlin at the Kronprinzenpalais (September 18–20) and Vintage Paper Berlin at the Alte Münze cultural quarter (September 18–19). Both sales fairs are within easy walking distance of each other and complement one another perfectly in their offerings.
How to Reach Rare Book Week at the Kronprinzenpalais
On Foot
Mühlendamm – Spandauer Strasse (toward Rotes Rathaus) – left through the city park past the Marx-Engels-Forum – left onto Unter den Linden to the Kronprinzenpalais (Unter den Linden 3) – 15 minutes.
Alternatively
Mühlendamm (toward the Spree), then right along the riverbank – left across the Rathausbrücke to Schloßplatz – right across Schinkelplatz along the riverbank to Unter den Linden, then left to the Kronprinzenpalais (Unter den Linden 3) – 15 minutes.
Underground
(U-Bahn) U2 from Klosterstrasse to Alexanderplatz, then U5 from Alexanderplatz to Museumsinsel – 10 minutes.
Bus
Line 300 from Jüdenstrasse to Museumsinsel – 10 minutes.
