Vintage Paper Berlin – fair for rare books, prints and works on paper

Vintage Paper Berlin is an independent fair dedicated to rare books and prints, historical photography, ephemera, fine press books, artists’ editions and art on paper.
On 18 and 19 September 2026, a selected group of antiquarian booksellers, galleries, private collectors, conservators, artists and editions will gather at Alte Münze Berlin to present their finest works on paper.
As an exhibitor, you benefit from a clearly profiled environment, an expert audience and the fair’s integration into Rare Book Week Berlin.

A focused marketplace for printed paper

Vintage Paper Berlin puts a clear focus on everything that is collected, traded and displayed on paper.
At its core are rare books and prints, historical photography, vintage advertising on paper (such as posters), fine press books, artists’ editions and contemporary art on paper.

The fair is part of Rare Book Week Berlin, taking place from 14 to 20 September 2026, and positions itself within this week as an independent format with its own profile, its own venue and a clearly paper‑oriented audience focus.

Vintage Paper Berlin runs in parallel with Rare Book Berlin at the Kronprinzenpalais and is located just a short 10–15 minute walk away.
Together they create a concentrated fair week in Berlin for rare books, prints and works on paper.

D. Kuratorische Positionierung im Feld

In den letzten Jahren haben zahlreiche Ausstellungen das Medium Papier als eigenständige künstlerische Praxis ins Zentrum gestellt – von Themen‑Schauen zu Arbeiten auf Papier über Präsentationen von Buchkunst und Grafiken bis zu Installationen, die vollständig aus Papier gebaut sind. Vintage Paper Berlin schließt an diese Entwicklungen an, bringt sie aber in eine neue Form: eine Messe, die den Kunst‑ und Sammlermarkt mit einem kuratorischen Blick verbindet.

Indem Antiquariat, Fotografie, Plakatkunst und zeitgenössische Papierarbeiten gemeinsam gezeigt werden, entsteht ein Panorama der kulturellen Geschichtsschreibung im Medium Papier. Besucherinnen erleben, wie sich technischer Fortschritt, künstlerische Erfindung und Alltagspraxis im Material niederschlagen – vom frühen Druck bis zur heutigen Kleinauflage. Die Messe richtet sich nicht nur an Sammlerinnen und Fachpublikum, sondern ausdrücklich auch an Künstlerinnen, Gestalterinnen, Kurator*innen und alle, die sich von der Vielfalt des Papiers inspirieren lassen wollen.

Die Messe versteht das klassische Antiquariat nicht als überholtes Modell, sondern als lebendiges Fundament: Die Bestände der Antiquariate – Bücher, Grafik, Fotografie, Ephemera – sind der Ausgangspunkt, von dem aus sich die Crossover‑Perspektive auf Papier in Kunst und Fotografie entfaltet.
